1 Company taxation
We regularly assist companies and groups in anticipating and resolving various issues related to their day-to-day taxation, mainly with respect to corporate, VAT, registration duties and all other contributions and taxes levied on companies (company social solidarity contribution, payroll tax…).
We are also regularly asked for advice with regard tax consequences of complex operations (mergers and other restructuring, sale of a business….).
2 Tax audit and litigation assistance
Tax audit assistance is a key area of our work, one in which we work with companies from a very early stage in the audit procedure right through to its completion.
Experienced in the relationships with the tax authorities, we advise our clients on the best approach in case of disagreement with these authorities.
We also assist our clients in defending their interests before the competent jurisdictions, if needed.
3 International taxation
Thanks to the experience acquired at firms that are part of international networks, we have developed a specific expertise in analysing and interpreting both international tax treaties and the OECD-established principles.
Due to the present international context with respect to taxation, we are regularly contacted by groups with an overseas presence for advice on transfer pricing policy. Questions such as the notions of market price, choice of the pricing method, arrangements for invoicing intra-group services (management fees, licence fees…) are among those often addressed.
As part of this work, we collaborate with overseas firms selected for their reactiveness and competence.
4 Local taxation
We provide assistance to our clients on issues relating to local business taxes such as the Contribution Economique Territoriale, which includes the Cotisation Foncière des Entreprises (CFE) business property contribution and the Cotisation sur la Valeur Ajoutée des Entreprises (CVAE), based on corporate added value.
These assignments often consist of reviewing our clients’ tax bases, sometimes in a litigation context.
5 Personal and asset-based taxation
We help company directors, impatriates and expatriates with all types of questions relating to personal income tax or real property wealth tax (IFI).
We are regularly asked to analyse the tax consequences of sales of companies or businesses, often in a family context (family holdings, Dutreil arrangements).
6 Miscellaneous taxation
In a world in which “miscellaneous taxes” are rife, we are also called upon by our clients to scrutinize any schemes under which they may be subjected to specific taxes (retail space tax, TGAP tax on polluting businesses, tax on advertising expenditure…).
Moreover, we have developed an expertise in analysing tax schemes governing non-profit organizations (associations).
